Civic Engagement

Civic engagement is broadly defined as action taken by an individual or group to identify and address community concerns. A community’s level of civic engagement is an indication of a community’s resilience, collective problem-solving capacity and ability to advocate for itself. Voter turnout, volunteerism and participation in local organizations are examples of civic engagement measures.
