Homeownership rates have fluctuated little over the past nine years, but the trend demonstrates a decrease in homeownership and increase in renter occupied units.

From 2007 to July of 2011 about four thousand foreclosures have occurred in Forsyth County. While foreclosures are occuring across the county, between 2007 and 2010 most foreclosures occurred within the city limits of Winston-Salem, east of Hwy 52 and South of Interstate 40.
